So as a lover of reading biographies, I wanted to pass along some of 2020’s top bio picks! Anyone read any of these?
- YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST – by Alexis Coe, about George Washington
- MY INVENTIONS by Nikola Tesla
- ME by Elton John
- BECOMING by Michelle Obama
- ANGELA’S ASHES by Frank McCourt
I’m actually reading INCIDENTS IN THE LIFE OF A SLAVE GIRl by Harriet Jacobs. This is a really insane book written in the 1800s by a formerly enslaved woman who was able to get her freedom. I was inspired to read this after taking a tour of McLeod Plantation in South Carolina–one of the country’s two plantations that focus on the enslaved experience during tours and exhibitions. McLeod focused on enslaved women and their plight and it’s so exemplified in INCIDENTS IN THE LIFE OF A SLAVE GIRL. Truly tragic and stunning, I have to read a little bit at a time as it can get to be too much.
Any top biographies anyone has read recently and want to share?
