Hey all, I was wondering your thoughts on these tips?
This is a great what-not-to-do guide. I love number one–writing for revenge, which is never a good thing, and many people do that. I remember reading a draft of a person’s memoir a lonnnng time ago and it wasn’t very powerful because she was just trying to get back at her ex-husband, and it definitely read that way.
Number 8 – “being too close to the story” – how long do you think you have to wait until you can really begin to write that memoir, do you think? Ten years, 20 years? I suppose an advantage of being a memoirist is living long, if that holds true!
Would love to hear your thoughts, if you have any, about these tips!
